This week kicked off a two-week special of NXT called Gold Rush. As a result, several title matches will be on the line across two weeks. Titles from NXT, TNA, AAA, and Evolve will be defended in this two-week spectacle. Tonight's show kicked off with Chelsea Green and Ethan Page, who were defending the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles against Joe Hendry and Thea Hail. This will be Chelsea and Ethan's first title defense since the pair won the titles from La Hiedra and Mr. Iguana.

Both teams delivered a spectacular match. During the bout, a slight miscommunication took place. As Joe Hendry was about to hit the ropes, the referee ran in front of him to deal with Chelsea Green. Luckily, Hendry was able to prevent himself from crashing into the WWE official, which could've ended badly for both men. However, this distraction allowed Alba Fyre to trip Hendry.

WWE has booked three more matches for NXT Gold Rush

The AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles aren't the only championships being defended at WWE NXT Gold Rush. After Zaria lost her title to Blake Monroe, Sol Ruca will be looking to regain the NXT Women's North American Championship that she never lost. Sol was recently cleared to compete and will challenge for the title later tonight.

Darkstate has been a dominant force in the ring ever since they formed a faction together. However, they have a serious threat looming over them in Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater, who will challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Jacy Jayne hasn't been herself ever since she lost the NXT Women's Championship to Tatum Paxley. She will get the chance to regain the title when she locks horns with Paxley in a last-chance match.

It remains to be seen if the night will favor the champions or the challengers.
