"I did the math a couple of weeks ago , over the past two decades I've lost exactly 15 friends to addiction and suicide who just couldn't handle the pressure. 15 and in a way this Smashing Machine was a love letter to the men and women who struggled, who have made it on the other side and who didn't make it on the other side."
