Rob Van Dam said he was in talks to face John Cena in WWE this year
John Cena's retirement tour in WWE saw him face many of his old rivals. As it turns out, RVD was also planned to be a part of the run, according to the 54-year-old star.
In a conversation with TMZ Sports a few months ago, Rob Van Dam revealed that he was in talks with WWE to face Cena on his retirement tour. He said there was a lot of interest, and it was likely going to happen.
However, his unfortunate injury derailed those plans. RVD famously won the WWE Championship from John Cena at ECW: One Night Stand in 2006.
