Stephanie Vaquer defended her Women's World Championship on RAW, but the match ended in controversy after a WWE legend interfered and later refused to apologize for her actions.

It's important to understand the somewhat complex context of Stephanie Vaquer's latest title defense. While it was Liv Morgan who first teased going after the Women's World Title, Raquel Rodriguez would go one step further and take a shot at it herself. When Nikki Bella interrupted to make another claim for a title shot (which she had lost at Survivor Series 2025), Raquel interfered and sent Bella head-first into the ringpost, making it clear who the next title challenger should be.

Just as Raquel Rodriguez walked over Nikki Bella to get a title shot, the WWE Hall of Famer got her revenge by interfering in Stephanie Vaquer's title defense, first taking out Rodriguez in retaliation before attacking the Champion. Later backstage, she refused to apologize for her actions and sent a stern warning to both women.

It looks like we could be in line for a triple threat match for the Women's World Championship - either to end the year or on January 5th, which will be the first anniversary of the RAW on Netflix premiere.

Already on that card is a World Heavyweight Title match between CM Punk and Bron Breakker, while Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley get set to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the Women's Tag Team Championships. WWE will be looking to go all-in on building that card, which means a Women's World Title match would be suitable.

The only issue is that it is technically three weeks away, but it shouldn't be too hard to build up to it, as it means only two weeks of segments. A Triple Threat match seems like an enticing direction to start the year.
