A WWE legend was recently caught making a false claim on social media. While John Layfield, known as JBL in the Stamford-based promotion, told a lie, his claim is true to his character and is quite hilarious.A fan account on X asked the community to name pro wrestlers who never turned heel. Jumping at the chance, Layfield dropped his own name in response via a tweet. Thus, the legend found yet another opportunity to claim he was never a heel, even though he was one of the most notorious heels in wrestling.Check out the post below:JBL wrestled his final WWE match at WrestleMania 25 in 2009, where he lost to Rey Mysterio. The 59-year-old is a 17-time Hardcore Champion and also held the WWE Championship for 280 days, and was dethroned by John Cena, making him win his first-ever world title in the company.Another WWE star made a JBL-like claimAside from JBL, even Logan Paul recently made a similar claim. Notably, former WWE head writer Vince Russo made an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show last month and stated that The Maverick was the best star on the roster of the Stamford-based promotion.Russo noted that it was rather embarrassing that a non-wrestler like him is currently the best thing about the company. He also said this should send a message to the other wrestlers in the locker room to step up and perform better.Helwani clipped this part of the podcast and posted it on X, which grabbed the attention of the former United States Champion. Responding to it, Paul said the praise was very humbling for him and added that it was surprising, since he is already a very humble guy. This, however, is far from the truth, as the YouTuber always brags about his wealth and social media following every chance he gets. He also likes to put the fans down on the mic and has also spoken condescendingly to legends like AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena during promos. In a way, Logan Paul wears the same hat as JBL.
