A WWE Hall of Famer has defended Goldberg after his recent comments about Asuka caused a stir. The former WCW Champion competed in his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event in July, and since then, he hasn't had many good things to say about the sports entertainment giant.

During an appearance on Real Talk with Mike Burke, Da Man said that WWE had "some girl" surpass his winning streak, referring to Asuka. He then accused the company of bias against him since he came from the rival WCW.

While his words led to fans online criticizing him, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has come out in his defense. Speaking on Busted Open, the tag team legend said other than not knowing or mispronouncing Asuka's name, he doesn't see anything wrong with what Goldberg said.

"I hear a guy a talking about his streak and talking about the Spear and he's taking it a little more seriously than some wrestlers do...Bill takes it more seriously. Bill comes from the very real world of sports and football. Wasn't broken into this business and taught and brainwashed a certain way. So I don't disparage Bill for having his take on how he feels about it or how he looks at it," he said.

Bully then said that since the former Universal Champion wasn't created by the WWE machine, his comments about different treatment aren't wrong.

"Came from WCW, yeah all that stuff is true. You weren't created in the WWE test tube. Neither was I, so I get it. Whoever was created there is always going to get more than you. Other than not knowing Asuka's name or mispronouncing Asuka's name, I don't hear anything wrong," he added.

Asuka broke her silence over Goldberg's comments

While wrestling fans online went after Goldberg for his comments, Asuka had a more balanced take on the situation.

Taking to X (fka Twitter), she said that the comments don't bother her and there is no need to make a big deal out of it.

The decorated women's star said that she is more focused on creating art than on what she accomplishes. She added that she doesn't chase records, but they come to her.
