Former WWE star Karrion Kross left the promotion following the expiry of his contract in August 2025. The 40-year-old was one of the earliest returns under the creative control of Triple H in 2022, and it was expected that he would play a major role on the main roster, following his impressive run in NXT under The Game during his first spell with the company.

However, his second spell with the promotion left a lot to be desired as it proved to be extremely underwhelming and earned him no title runs. He walked out of the company after being unhappy with his booking, but ever since his exit, fans have been wondering if The Herald of Doomsday would return to the company again, as he hasn't signed with any big wrestling promotion yet.

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo claims that Karrion Kross' WWE return hinges on one big factor, which is his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux. He was speaking during the final episode of Writing with Russo on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, where he stated that if WWE doesn't want to bring Scarlett back, then Kross might not want to sign with the Stamford-based promotion.

"Here's something else that comes into play, bro. This comes into play big time. His wife. If they don't want her, that could have a big bearing on whether or not he goes back to that company. I think that's a big part of this equation. And I mean, obviously, they've showed us they did absolutely zero with her," Russo said.

Karrion Kross did not have a clean WWE exit

The former NXT Champion got himself over during the WrestleMania 41 weekend after ranting about not receiving opportunities. This led to fans rallying behind the wrestler, who was then involved in a program with Sami Zayn, right before he left the promotion. After his contract expired, Karrion Kross was offered another contract by WWE, but they decided to hold off on offering one to Scarlett till after Kross signed his, leaving a bad taste in the couple's mouths.

Since leaving the promotion in August, Kross and Scarlett have made a couple of appearances on various independent wrestling promotions. The duo appeared at GCW Homecoming, where they attacked former WWE superstar Matt Cardona. Further, Kross made an appearance at DEFY Wrestling in September but has yet to appear at any other show since then.
