WWE has been accused of making Jey Uso "look like an idiot" by a wrestling veteran. The decorated tag team star has thrived as a singles competitor ever since his split from The Bloodline and his move to RAW.
After earning the nickname 'Main Event' Jey Uso, he went on to win the Royal Rumble this year and beat Gunther at WrestleMania 41 to claim his first World Heavyweight Championship.
However, despite the promotion teasing a prolonged singles run for Jey, he and his brother Jimmy revealed that they were back as a tag team this week on RAW. Former WWE star Stevie Richards addressed this move and said the promotion booked Jey Uso into a corner with his "Main Event" nickname.
Talking on The Stevie Richards Show, he said WWE not sticking to his nickname makes Jey look bad since he won't realistically be in the main event picture anymore.

"The nickname means nothing. They don’t stick to why the nickname is part of the character. 'Main Event' Jey Uso is really booking yourself into a corner. I would refuse, because if you’re not the main event, you look like an idiot," Richards said.

He then cited examples of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese as nicknames that helped understand the character. He also drew comparisons with Seth Rollins often changing his nicknames.
Richards also stressed that Jey Uso should not have accepted the 'Main Event' nickname to begin with. He added that the tag team veteran could now either turn heel or risk going down the pecking order.
Jey Uso crashed out after his defeat to LA Knight
Jey Uso faced LA Knight in the semi-final of the Last Time is Now Tournament on RAW last week. The match ended with The Megastar rolling up the former World Heavyweight Champion to pick up the win.
After the bout, Jey made no secret of his frustration with the loss. He trashed the ringside area and the Prime hydration station as well.
This led many fans online to speculate that a heel turn was incoming. However, this week on RAW, The Usos revealed that they were back as a tag team and are eyeing a return to the top of the division by going after the World Tag Team Titles.
