WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently spoke about Damian Priest not getting a big push. The star is part of the SmackDown roster.

The Archer of Infamy was one of the breakout stars emerging from The Judgment Day. He won the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed it on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 to become the World Heavyweight Champion. However, his push somehow fizzled out. He lost the gold to Gunther and then moved to the midcard.

During a recent episode of Kliq This, Nash noted that both Seth Rollins and Gunther did a great job promoting the prestige of the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the Hall of Famer was shocked by how Damian Priest's title run came to an unceremonious end. He felt WWE creative wasn't really sure how to book the star amidst all his injury reports. Nash also pointed out that WWE made him sell his eye injury with the fireball spot during a match with Aleister Black.

"Seth did a good job. Gunther held that belt and made it mean something. But they've had too many injuries and so many start-stops with so many different things. I was surprised they beat Damian Priest." He continued, "I don't know what his injury was and how bad it is, and if he's a hundred percent back yet. They had him sell the eye in the match."

Damian Priest was on Main Event

Over the last few months, Damian Priest has had a long-drawn-out rivalry with Aleister Black. This involved the two stars going one-on-one on several occasions. Black got the better of the exchange, winning two out of their last three encounters. The decisive win came on the October 10 episode of SmackDown in a Last Man Standing match.

Following that, Priest also crashed out of the Last Time is Now tournament, losing a first-round match against Rusev. This past week, he was at the Main Event TV tapings. Priest defeated Kit Wilson in a singles match at the show.
