Shield dominated WWE over a decade ago and ushered in a new era of trios in the Stamford-based promotion for years to come. Meanwhile, NXT General Manager Ava went off at DarkState's Osiris Griffin on X.
DarkState slowly became a dominant faction on the developmental brand under Shawn Michaels' creative leadership. Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin also conquered the tag team division when they defeated Hank and Tank for the titles.
Recently, Osiris Griffin asked Ava on X when they can get a new General Manager. The question didn't sit well with the current NXT General Manager, and she went off at Griffin's stable, DarkState, by calling it the Walmart version of The Shield.
"Okay walmart Shield," Ava tweeted on X.

While the reply wasn't too harsh, some similarities can be spotted between the two groups and their run in the Stamford-based promotion.
Will The Shield reform in WWE?
The Shield became one of the most iconic factions in WWE's history, as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns became the faces of major wrestling promotions and dominated the main event scene in all of professional wrestling for years to come.
While Ambrose, aka Jon Moxley, is in Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling, the 39-year-old star became a multi-time world champion outside the Stamford-based promotion. In 2019, The Shield reunited for a final time under Vince McMahon's regime at WWE Fastlane in Ohio for a six-man tag team match when the Hounds of Justice defeated Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre ahead of WrestleMania 35.
It's been over six years, and the audience wants Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns to reunite for another run in the Stamford-based promotion. However, it might never happen as Moxley is working for Tony Khan's promotion and has no intentions of leaving. Meanwhile, Rollins and Reigns were recently in a feud before The Visionary suffered injury and was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship.
