Vince McMahon once believed a former World Champion sucked. This was revealed by a former WWE star.Chris Benoit is widely regarded as one of the best technical wrestlers in the history of the WWE. He was able to deliver standout performances every time he stepped into the ring. Sadly, Benoit's name and legacy are embroiled in controversy after he k**led his own wife and son before taking his own life. Therefore, his name and legacy have been wiped from the sports entertainment juggernaut's history. His name has never been mentioned on WWE TV since the incident. Mr. Anderson recently had a story to share featuring Vince McMahon and Chris Benoit.During an interview with 99.9 Punk World Radio, Mr. Anderson recalled Paul Heyman telling him that Vince McMahon believed that Chris Benoit sucked because that's how the Rabid Wolverine perceived himself."Paul Heyman told me this story where they were looking to put the title on somebody new and they were throwing around all these names and Paul Heyman threw Chris Benoit's name out there and Vince was like, 'He sucks though. Why would I put the title on a guy that sucks?' And Paul was like, 'Are we talking about the same guy? Chris Benoit.' Yeah, everytime he comes back, he beats himself up, 'Oh, that sucked, that sucked, that sucked.' And so, Vince was a guy that if you actually critiqued yourself publicly or in front of him. 'Oh, if you say you sucked, then you sucked.' It took some convincing by Paul Heyman to tell them like, 'No, he doesn't actually suck. He's really, really good. He's just hard on himself.'"Mark Shapiro says WWE is moving past Vince McMahonVince McMahon was ousted from WWE after he sold the company to Endeavor. However, many of the elements that Vince created still remain in the Stamford-based promotion, such as many PLE names that were created by the former Chairman.During a recent interview on The Main Event with Andrew Marchand, TKO's President, Mark Shapiro, said that a lot of the PLEs were created by Vince, and they are looking to move past him."Right now, a lot of our PLEs were created by Vince McMahon. We need to get in the business of taking that torch and moving past that, and Nick (Khan) and Triple H created Wrestlepalooza, which is the launch event for our new ESPN deal, which did incredibly well and may turn into a superfranchise," he said (H/T: WrestlePurists)It will be interesting to see if WWE will come up with some new PLE names in the future.
