Speaking on TMZ's Inside The Ring podcast, CJ Perry, more famously known as Lana, discussed a variety of topics about her career. Perry started as the valet for Rusev, who was initially dubbed as the Hero of the Russian Federation. They were booked as classic anti-American characters upon their main roster debut in 2014.

CJ Perry revealed that once Donald Trump was elected president in 2016, Vince McMahon stopped booking her and Rusev as anti-American characters because it was too political.

"Once Trump became president he sat me and Miro down. He's like, 'Ok, no more politics.' He's like, 'It's too polarizing and controversial,'" Perry said.

Lana and Rusev did stop becoming anti-American characters in 2016. She slowly began dropping her Russian accent, while Rusev became The Bulgarian Brute. They were also inserted into a love storyline with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae.

However, that story was dropped after Rusev and Lana announced their real-life engagement. He would eventually form the League of Nations with Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio.

Hall of Famer makes wild claim about Vince McMahon

In an appearance on the Johnny I Pro Show, Bret Hart discussed the relationship between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels back then. Hart was famously betrayed by both McMahon and Michaels during the Montreal Screwjob in 1997.

"I think that Shawn and Vince were sleeping with each other. I'm just telling you, I think I’m very close to the truth here. Shawn and Vince were lovers. I’m being dead honest. When I look back, it’s like I got caught between two lovers, and I got shafted and screwed over and Shawn was so envious and jealous of my position that he finally had to sleep with Vince to get it. I would say it to Shawn if he was right here," Hart said. [H/T Fightful]

While all parties have seemingly buried the hatchet back in 2010, Hart still had to air some grievances from time to time. He most recently took a shot at Goldberg once again after expressing wanting to work with Brock Lesnar if he had the chance back in the day.
