John Cena will be wrestling his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event. But what's next for Cena after his in-ring retirement? The GOAT reveals his plans following the events of December 13 in Washington, D.C.
Nearly 17 months since announcing his plans to retire, Cena only has one match left in his farewell tour. Time flew by in an instant, but the WWE Universe is set to say goodbye to The GOAT at the Capital One Arena in SNME live on Peacock.
On a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Cena opened up about the end of his career. Cena discussed the thoughts he had going through his retirement tour. Kimmel asked him what his plans were after the event, with the 17-time WWE World Champion sharing a heartwarming and hilarious answer.
"That night I'm going to spend a lot of time with folks I love, who I connect strongly with. I think the next day, I hope to wake up hung over," Cena said.

Backstage update on John Cena's final match
John Cena's final opponent will either be Gunther or LA Knight, with the two stars set to collide on SmackDown. TC of WrestleVotes reported on a recent Fightful Select Q&A that some people backstage are not fans of The Ring General facing Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Despite some pouting about Gunther vs. John Cena, the same people understand why WWE wants to put the former World Heavyweight Champion in that position. He already retired Goldberg back in July, so adding another name like Cena to his resume grows his reputation and character.
On the other hand, Knight is the fan favorite, especially by internet wrestling community. The Megastar has had an up-and-down year, though he's the current WWE workhorse with 65 matches in 2025, as per Cagematch. He's ahead of Penta, who has had 63, followed by Roxanne Perez with 62.
