Former WWE Champion John Cena is just weeks away from his final professional wrestling match. The Unseen 17 will bow out from the world of professional wrestling at next month's Saturday Night's Main Event. He has been on his retirement tour this entire year, wrestling rivals from his past and some current stars.

His last match against AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel was widely acclaimed, and many fans feel that it was his best match on this retirement tour. Recently, his father, John Cena Sr., also shared his views on the match, calling out Triple H over the build-up to the spectacle, or the lack thereof.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, he criticized the lack of buildup to John Cena's match at Crown Jewel. The match was built up by WWE on social media, leaving John Cena Sr. frustrated. However, he was amazed by the match against Styles, stating that younger wrestlers should look at that match for inspiration.

"There wasn't much. It was a poor buildup. It was a very poor buildup to what I consider to be a phenomenal match. Forget about John Cena Jr. That was an outstanding match. And any of the young people coming up ought to take a good look at that match because that's the way it ought to be in pro wrestling. That was phenomenal," Cena Sr. said.

The 17-time WWE World Champion only has four more dates left on his retirement tour. He is slated to appear at next week's episode of Monday Night RAW in his hometown of Boston, where fans are expecting to get some clarity on Cena's plans for Survivor Series. Rumors were circulating that he might face Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship, a title that has evaded him all his career, but it seems that the match has now been scrapped.
