WWE, under Triple H's creative leadership, has signed many AEW stars, including Jade Cargill, Ricky Starks, and Penta, among others. Rey Fenix is also on the list.On the Wrestling Observer Radio, journalist Dave Meltzer expressed his views on Fenix leaving All Elite Wrestling for the Stamford-based promotion. Meltzer said that he knew Penta's run in WWE would be great, but he wasn't sure how Fenix would fare in the company. He also spoke about World Tag Team Champion Dragon Lee.Meltzer added that Rey Fenix's matches in AEW were better than the bouts he has had in the sports entertainment juggernaut so far."I thought that Fenix was making the wrong move. Now, I think it's more and more clear that he did. Was he gonna get a big push in AEW? No. But the difference is, he would be in hellacious matches in AEW, and he's really not in WWE," Meltzer said. Meltzer also claimed that Dragon Lee would have been in a similar spot in AEW if he had chosen to join the Tony Khan-led company instead of World Wrestling Entertainment. "I'm not as sure about Dragon Lee and I think that Dragon Lee is kinda an even one, it's still debatable, the jury's not out. But Rey Fenix from day one I've expected this and I think it has come true."
