A current TNA Wrestling star is set to make WWE history next month in San Antonio, Texas. The two wrestling promotions entered an official multi-year partnership back in January.

After several TNA stars appeared on WWE television last year, WWE and TNA decided to enter an official collaboration that would help both companies grow. It started a talent exchange between NXT and TNA stars, and it even reached a point where Joe Hendry had a match at WrestleMania 41 as the reigning TNA World Champion.

Another current TNA star and champion is set to make history in WWE. Leon Slater will be the first non-WWE contract star to participate in an Iron Survivors Challenge on December 6 at NXT Deadline.

Slater will face Je'Von Evans, Joe Hendry, Dion Lennox and Myles Borne, who were all chosen by John Cena last Tuesday on NXT. While some people might think Hendry is still under TNA, Fightful Select reported earlier this month that he's officially part of WWE.

Cena also seemingly confirmed this by saying that Slater was a TNA talent in his announcement but didn't mention it for Hendry. However, The GOAT did reveal that he believes in Joe Hendry by doing his signature taunt.

At just 21 years old, Leon Slater is one of the best prospects not signed by WWE. Slater has been with TNA Wrestling since 2023, with Corey Brennan of Fightful Select reporting that his contract expires next year.

Brennan added that Slater is liked backstage by people in the biggest wrestling company in the world. However, it's unclear if they will poach the talented star from TNA amid their multi-year partnership or if he'll stay and continue to develop away from the bright lights.

Slater is the current X Division Champion in his first reign. It will be interesting to see how much he'll accomplish next year. His stock is going to rise, which would demand a bigger contract.
