Teddy Long expects one major title change at Saturday Night's Main Event (Exclusive)

Teddy Long gave a huge prediction for Saturday Night's Main Event, where he said that he expects one major title change to happen. The former SmackDown General Manager gave his thoughts on the situation.

On the final episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, host Mac Davis asked WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long about his predictions for one particular match at Saturday Night's Main Event. That match was the WWE Women's Championship bout between Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.

Teddy Long praised Jade Cargill and predicted that she will become the Women's Champion at Saturday Night's Main Event, effectively ending Tiffany Stratton's dominant 2025 run:

"She [Jade Cargill] is a phenomenal athlete, and I had the chance to work with her before she got to the top, before she even went to [WWE]. She was in the wrestling school there in Atlanta. I had the chance to talk to her. What a nice girl. She has a great look, and her skills in the ring have become absolutely great. I believe they're going to run with her now. They already are pushing her. She's had a few setbacks but I think if she's over some of that other stuff she was involved with, I think it's her time."

Teddy Long weighed in on the botch involving Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and Nia Jax on SmackDown.

On the 26th September episode of SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax had a Triple Threat match for the WWE Women's Championship. There was a spot where Jade Cargill was shoved into the steel steps by Nia Jax, resulting in her getting busted open.

Soon after that, a spot followed where Tiffany Stratton had Nia Jax for the pinfall, and the referee, Aja Smith, stopped the count at two despite Nia Jax not attempting a kickout. The botch was the subject of discussion after the 26th September episode of SmackDown, and former General Manager Teddy Long weighed in on the situation.

On an episode of The Wrestling Time Machine after SmackDown, Teddy Long didn't blame anybody for the aforementioned pinfall botch, and said that it was probably confusing for the referee, Aja Smith, who likely knew the finish of the match:

"Well, she probably was new to the business. Her knowing the finish, golly, it's gonna be hard to count somebody out. You know if you do, you've scr*wed up everything. So, like I said, you have to count to three if the person doesn't kick out."

Teddy Long added that Jade Cargill was possibly supposed to break up the pinfall, and that's what led to the confusion. However, Cargill being busted open meant that she was likely too disoriented to break up the pinfall attempt.
