Ex-WWE writer Vince Russo pitched a very interesting idea for Chris Jericho, who many believe is heading back to the sports entertainment juggernaut after over six years with AEW.

On the latest episode of Writing with Russo, host Dr. Chris Featherstone asked Vince Russo about a comment made by Bully Ray regarding Jericho. For context, Bully Ray, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, believes that Chris Jericho's work in AEW is done and that he needs to come to the place that made him the big star he is today - WWE. Ray said that he hopes to see Jericho retire in WWE, and pitched the idea of Y2J feuding with LA Knight for a year.

Vince Russo disagreed with Bully Ray and said that he would rather see Y2J return and replace Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis as the General Manager of both shows:

"[Chris] Jericho doesn't need to feud with anybody. He needed to come in months ago and take over the general manager of both shows. That would be the perfect spot for him, and they [WWE] could do so much entertaining stuff if they just let Jericho be Jericho. Chris Jericho does not need to come into WWE and have a match with LA Knight, bro."

John Cena's father named Chris Jericho as a dream opponent for the end of the farewell tour

John Cena is set to finally hang up his boots as his retirement tour concludes, a little over a month from now, at Saturday Night's Main Event. The Last Time is now, and Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone had an exclusive interview with Cena's father.

During this interview, John Cena Sr. pitched two major AEW names whom he would have loved to see his son face in the farewell tour. One of them was Jericho:

"I mean, I'd love to see Adam Copeland in there with John. That would be a great finish. Jericho is another guy that I could think that might be in there with Cena, but the way it's going, take the coin and throw it in the air, and let's see which football team gets the first ball. Yeah." John Cena Sr. said.

As some older WWE fans might remember, Cena and Chris Jericho crossed paths on two crucial occasions - early into Cena's career, as well as after he became the WWE Champion and moved to RAW.

In the first instance, Jericho wanted to selflessly elevate a young Cena, whom he saw a lot of potential in before even Vince McMahon did. Three years later, the circumstances were different as Cena was quickly establishing himself as the face of WWE.

His move to RAW in 2005 marked Vince McMahon's decision to make John Cena the top guy, and Chris Jericho was a marquee feud for him as the two faced off at SummerSlam that year. It seems unlikely that they will cross paths.
