After the match ended, fans showed their disapproval of the finish both online and in the arena, even hijacking the post-show. Fans have continued to criticize the promotion for the decision to have Cena give up in his farewell match.
Now, in an interview with TMZ Sports, the man who defeated The Champ in his retirement match, Gunther, has spoken about the events. When asked what he would like to say to the fans, he replied they should stop crying.

Gunther mocks WWE fans after beating John Cena
Gunther isn't taking it easy on WWE fans who wanted John Cena to win his final match.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, the former World Heavyweight Champion posted videos of fans being upset after Cena lost to him. At the end of each clip, Gunther was seen boasting about what he had done, mocking the sentiment of the fans.
This was his way of getting more heat on him for storyline purposes as he stayed true to his on-screen heel character. He also addressed his win over Cena on RAW this week.
While the Ring General might be trying to stay in character, things nearly went out of hand at Saturday Night's Main Event. Following his win, he had to be escorted outside the arena by extra security, as he had fans chasing and shouting at him.
