Rey Mysterio spent the past several months on the sidelines due to an injury. He returned a few weeks ago and renewed his rivalry against Dominik Mysterio. Tonight on the red brand, Dominik Mysterio was involved in a segment with a John Cena impersonator.

"Dirty" Dom attacked the impersonator, which prompted Rey to run out and help him. Following this, the WWE Hall of Famer faced off against JD McDonagh, who was accompanied by Finn Balor.

During the match, Finn Balor made his presence felt at ringside when he tripped Rey. When the former Universal Champion was arguing with the referee on the apron, Rey dropkicked JD McDonagh, who knocked Balor off. Rey then hit the 619 to win the match. Following the bout, Balor chased Rey around the ring, but the luchador was able to escape, leaving Balor feeling embarrassed.

Tommy Carlucci feels Rey Mysterio should be John Cena's final opponent

Ever since John Cena announced his farewell tour, his final opponent has become a topic of hot debate. Cena recently announced The Last Time is Now Tournament to determine who would earn the right to face him at Saturday Night's Main Event. While the brackets have been decided, one spot has opened up after Sheamus recently got injured.

Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Tommy Carlucci suggested that Rey should be Cena's final opponent since they could have a great match.

"Personally, I think him [John Cena] and Rey Mysterio can have a great match. Rey is a Hall of Famer. They've had history before. And by the way, that name pops. I mean, when you tell me my last match is Cena and Rey Mysterio, that makes me say, 'Holy s**t again, what are they going to do?" Carlucci said.

It will be interesting to see if Rey will be added to The Last Time is Now Tournament.
