Released star reveals she is making more money outside WWE

While WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world, not all of their talents earn a lot of money, especially when signed to a developmental deal. A recently released NXT star shared that she's making more money now than when she was with the company.

Priscilla Kelly, more famously known as Gigi Dolin, was under the NXT banner from 2021 until her release back in May. She returned to working on the independent circuit, as well as Major League Wrestling.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo on her latest YouTube video, Dolin opened up about the wrong notion that all WWE stars earn a lot of money. Those who are under NXT deals aren't making a lot because of their position in the company.

But the good news for the two-time NXT Women's Tag Team Champion is she's earning more now in the indies than during her time at developmental.

"I actually think with the amount I work, because I've always been a hustler during the independents, I've always been a person that works my ass off and hustles and tries to capitalize wherever I can. With all my work, all of the bookings I've been taking, I arguably think that I actually make more than I made in NXT now," Dolin said. [H/T Fightful]

Before finding pro wrestling as a teen, Gigi Dolin went through a lot growing up. She struggled with her mental health at times, and the pressure of joining WWE was a lot to process. Dolin told Denise Salcedo that some people backstage were not nice to her in NXT, which left her suicidal.

"The pressure of WWE is a lot and especially those first two years, because I was new and I had came from the indies. There was a lot that they were trying to beat out of me. There was definitely just stuff going on behind the scenes. I don’t want to bring it up because, like, I know it’ll blow up and then like it’ll become a whole thing. But let’s just say some people were very very very not nice to me to the point that I was suicidal for a little bit because I was I was really going through it," Dolin said. [H/T ITR Wrestling]

Dolin added that some of her close friends knew about what she was going through, as well as some of the higher-ups in the company.
