John Cena officially retired on December 13 at Saturday Night's Main Event after tapping out to Gunther, and one of the names missing from the show was Nikki Bella. The Hall of Famer had a good reason or two to not attend the historic event.

Nikki was previously in a relationship with Cena for six years, and the couple was even engaged to get married. They broke up less than a month before their planned wedding. Due to their history, it's understandable why the Hall of Famer was not at SNME.

But Nikki Bella has previously stated that things are good between her and John Cena, especially upon her return to WWE. So what's a better reason for her not to be present in Washington, D.C.? Promotional work for the company in Philadelphia.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Nikki shared that she represented WWE last Saturday in the NHL game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Carolina Hurricanes. It was part of the company's promotion of an upcoming episode of RAW on February 2, 2026, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Is Triple H mad at John Cena? Check in details!

"Thank you for the hospitality @NHLFlyers & @XMobileArena 🧡 Had such a great time! Not the outcome we wanted but such a fun game to watch. Excited for Monday Night RAW to be back in February! 💋," Nikki tweeted.

Nikki Bella returned to WWE at Royal Rumble 2025 and became a full-time member of the main roster in June.

Nikki Bella and Cody Rhodes attend Philadelphia Eagles game

Nikki Bella's weekend didn't end at the Flyers game because she attended another sports event on Sunday. Nikki was joined by Cody Rhodes at the Lincoln Financial Field to watch the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Las Vegas Raiders, 31-0, as per the NFL's official X account.

The Eagles hosted WrestleMania 40, a special event in WWE history that saw Rhodes finish his story last year. Unlike Nikki, The American Nightmare was in Washington, D.C., for SNME.

Rhodes faced Oba Femi in the show opener, which resulted in a no-contest after Drew McIntyre interfered.
