A truly shocking moment recently went down, crowning a new WWE champion, and fans haven't been able to keep calm since then. Amidst the chaos surrounding Thea Hail's North American Women's Championship win on NXT, the show's broadcaster, CW Sports, has issued a public message on social media.

Hail challenged Blake Monroe at the Wednesday Night Show in a match that many expected would end with the latter comfortably retaining her coveted gold. However, everything that could go wrong did, and the contest ended with Thea Hail winning even when Monroe's shoulder was evidently up during the pinfall.

As expected, the bewildering finish to the match created utter chaos on the internet. Reports also surfaced suggesting that the ending was indeed botched and that Hail was never meant to win the North American Women's Title. Now, NXT's official broadcaster, CW Sports, has come forward with a post on X, where they seem to be just as perplexed as everyone regarding the turn of events.

WWE might be forced to course-correct things

It's safe to assume the situation backstage in WWE might be tense right now, as the unplanned title change could have foiled many of their plans.

While it remains to be seen how they approach things forward, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Shawn Michaels and other higher-ups in the company booking a rematch soon, where Blake Monroe could win back her title.

The foundation for the rematch was already laid in a backstage segment later in the show, where Monroe confronted the new North American Women's Champion. A former AEW star was furious and said the title still belonged to her. She also demanded that the referee in the match be immediately fired for the botch.
