It looks like a popular WWE duo has come to the end of the road as a pairing and has now seemingly broken up, albeit on good terms. On the latest episode of Evolve, Carlee Bright confirmed she wanted to make a name for herself and didn't want to keep working under Evolve Women's Champion Kendal Grey's shadow.

Before becoming the singles sensation she is today, Grey worked as part of a tag team with Bright for several months. However, in recent months, the 24-year-old star exploded in popularity. Apart from being the Evolve Women's Champion, Kendal Grey has also made a mark in NXT with her recent string of performances.

On the other hand, Carlee Bright is still trying to solidify her name in the company. The latest episode of Evolve saw the two tag team partners come together and acknowledge that their careers had taken off in different directions. Bright, in particular, mentioned that she wanted to chart her own path in WWE now.

"Lately I just feel like I'm seen as 'Kendal's friend' and I wanna do something for myself. I want to be a compeitor, a WWE Superstar. I wanna make my own mark in Evolve just like you did," said Bright. (0:12 - 0:24)

Considering Carlee Bright and Kendal Grey have parted ways on good terms, they could reunite down the line if fate brought them together again.

Kendal Grey addresses comparisons with WWE megastar Bianca Belair

Grey is among the brightest prospects in WWE today, so much so that many have even compared her with the great Bianca Belair due to her athletic abilities. In a recent chat, Kendal Grey said that though she was flattered by the comparisons, she admitted that she was a work in progress and still had plenty to learn.

“She is so good at what she does, and obviously I have so much work to catch up to her. Because she is so much more experienced than me. But for people to see that future for me? I would hope that can happen one day. But it’s a cool feeling. You know, I know I’m putting in the work and I’m trying to get better every single day. And it’s just a cool feeling.”

It'll be interesting to see if WWE has Grey participate in the Royal Rumble match next month as a way to provide her exposure in front of a big crowd.
