The 40-year-old WWE Superstar was brimming with confidence after defeating Finn Balor last Friday in the first round of the Last Time is Now Tournament.

During the go-home episode of WWE RAW before Survivor Series, Penta faced Solo Sikoa in a quarterfinal match.

However, it all came crashing down after he hurt his left shoulder while attempting a hurricanrana off the barricade. He took a nasty fall outside the ring, forcing the referee to call off the match.

Earlier today, Penta took to his X (formerly Twitter) to thank everyone for showing concern. In his lengthy social media post, he said his injury tested him physically and mentally.

Although he didn't provide specifics on the nature of his injury, Penta assured everyone that he would be back "very soon."

"Thank you to everyone who has checked in on me. This injury tested my body and spirit, but it also awakened the strength that has always guided me. I am a Mexican warrior, forged in struggle, honor, and heart. And though the fall was hard, I rose with a fire stronger than ever. To my rival, my deepest respect. Thank you for your professionalism and for a clean, dignified battle. I recognize your dedication and honor. I will be back very soon, stronger, more prepared, and determined to finish what I left pending. Thank you for standing with me… because this war still has chapters to be written. 🇲🇽🔥⚔"

Was Penta supposed to advance in WWE's Last Time is Now Tournament?

Despite suffering an injury, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that it didn't affect the original plans.

The wrestling journalist noted that Penta's injury didn't change the finish, as Solo Sikoa was supposed to go over anyway.

"I actually found out that he [Penta] was not going to win. Solo Sikoa was going to win, and they were going to do Gunther vs. Solo."

However, their match was cut short, with rumors suggesting that it would have lasted eight more minutes.

With Penta on the sidelines, Solo Sikoa will face Gunther in the semifinals of the Last Time is Now Tournament.
