A wrestling star has revealed that he ignored a doctor's warning to pursue a WWE career. This was after the star was left paralyzed following a surgery.

During an appearance on What's Your Story? With Steph McMahon, former WWE star Dylan Postl, aka Hornswoggle, talked about his pro wrestling journey and revealed how he got his break.

He then mentioned how he was never supposed to wrestle in the first place. Postl revealed that a surgery at the age of four had left him paralyzed.

"I shouldn't even be wrestling. When I had my back surgery, the second one, the doctor said, 'Alright, no contact sports and no trampolines.' The first one was 1990. So I would've been four. Cut me open, Doctor never did surgery on a little person before. Hit a nerve, paralyzed me from the waist down. Full body cast, knees to nipples, as I say," he said.

Postl then said that after his second surgery, the doctor strongly warned him to avoid contact sports. However, he was left surprised when he made his WWE debut years later.

"Then we find a doctor in Minneapolis, and he takes a rib out and fuses that and a metal rod in my back. First thing he says, "No contact sports and no trampolines." Fast forward years and years later. That was '92, years and years later, I am on TV with WWE, and he emails my dad, going, 'Obviously, he didn't listen to me.' My dad goes, 'He didn't listen to me either,'" he added.

Postl made his debut for the sports entertainment giant in 2006 on SmackDown as the leprechaun partner of veteran Finlay. He would go on to become a memorable on-screen character and even won the Cruiserweight championship once.

Hornswoggle used to bully Big E in WWE playfully

During the conversation with Stephanie McMahon, Postl revealed that he used to bully stars, with Big E being his usual victim.

He said his ribbing of the decorated tag team star reached a point where he had had enough and went for payback. Postl mentioned that Big E got back at him by kicking him from behind, sending him flying as they were walking.

Postl mentioned that he didn't stop bullying the former WWE Champion even after that, but it was friendly and never "mean-spirited."
