Aldis was forced to suspend Drew McIntyre after he attacked a referee on the November 7 edition of WWE SmackDown. The Scottish Warrior teamed up with The Vision and Brock Lesnar to win the Men's WarGames match at Survivor Series last month. The SmackDown General Manager shared a video ahead of tonight's show and noted that he has not been able to get in touch with Drew McIntyre.

"As you know, Drew McIntyre was recently suspended from SmackDown. And despite what Drew might think, since that time, I have been working tirelessly to try and reinstate him and try to bring him back where he belongs. That has become increasingly difficult this week, given the fact that Drew won't return my calls," said Nick Aldis.

"My biggest thought on it was, 'I'm gonna try to make it different, I'm gonna try to do it my own way,' and when I talked to Triple H, he made it clear to me, 'I want you to be different, I want you to be a different kind of GM to the ones we've had in the past, you're not necessarily gonna be this evil, maniacal bad guy boss. You're gonna be a cool boss. You're gonna lay down the law and you're gonna be fair and honest and just.'"
