More than two years after coming out of retirement, a former WWE Women's Champion has opened up about the possibility of it happening again. Just like most pro wrestlers, she used one of the most famous quotes in the industry as her answer.
Gail Kim made her name in WWE in the early 2000s, winning the Women's Title in her first televised match on RAW in June 2003. Her first tenure ended in late 2004, and she subsequently signed with TNA Wrestling. She returned to WWE in 2008, with her second tenure lasting just three years.
Returning to TNA once again, Kim became a legendary figure for the promotion. She won the TNA Knockouts Title seven times and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2016. She initially retired on April 28, 2019, but returned for a 5-on-5 women's tag team match at TNA's 1000th episode on September 9, 2023.
Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Gail Kim was asked if she'll consider coming out of retirement for the second time.

"I guess, I would say never say never, but it would have been something really, really special. For me to get conditioned for a full match, I don't think people realize how hard it is to train for the cardio of a professional wrestling match... Also, the last thing, which is the more important thing, I care about my legacy. I care about my body of work that I left behind and what fans remember of me. If I'm coming out of retirement, this is going to be the last thing they remember," Kim said. [H/T Fightful]
Gail Kim was removed from TNA Wrestling back in March, ending her tenure with the promotion after 14 years. She was reportedly backstage in NXT a few months later, though she's not active with any company.
Current NXT star wants Gail Kim in WWE
Before TNA fired her, Gail Kim was working as an agent backstage. With WWE lacking in female producers, current NXT star Jordynne Grace wants to see Kim back in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.
"I just want her to come selfishly for me. I just wanna be around her. Her mind, I’m very comfortable with her. She’s an incredible producer, and just a wrestling mind in general so, fingers crossed that eventually, she gets over here," Grace told Adrian Hernandez back in July. [H/T Fightful]
There is currently just one female producer on the main roster in Molly Holly, while Sara Del Rey serves as a trainer and agent in NXT.
