Apart from his in-ring accomplishments, his name has also popped up in some interesting backstage incidents and stories over the years. Former WWE announcer Todd Grisham recalled one such instance during a recent conversation.

During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Grisham talked about his early days in WWE. He said that he warned about people testing him and playing pranks on him.

He mentioned that The Brooklyn Brawler had spread a rumor backstage that Grisham was saying that wrestling is fake. He said that when people asked him whether he believed it, he said yes because denying it would have meant calling The Brooklyn Brawler a liar. Grisham then recalled how WWE stars decided to get at him.

"So then somebody, they’re doing the practice matches in the ring, and then somebody goes, ‘Hey, that’s the idiot that says wrestling’s fake; bring him into the ring.’ I’m like, oh god. So I get into the ring, and Jazz was in there. She’s like, ‘You really think that?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I think wrestling looks fake,’" he said.

The veteran announcer then revealed that they wanted Batista to give him a Power Bomb and it had him scared.

"So next thing you know, Batista is in the ring, and they’re like, ‘Give him a Power Bomb, Batista.’ And I’m like, Oh my god. So Batista sets me between his legs, grabs my underwear, and freaking rips them straight up. Just like a saw going, and he keeps acting like he’s gonna do it right, and I’m scared to death, and thank God he didn’t Power Bomb me, but my freaking b*tt crack was bleeding afterwards, raw as hell," he said.

Batista retired after WrestleMania 35

Batista had a storied career in WWE, winning multiple World Championships and being a two-time Royal Rumble winner.

After pursuing a career in Hollywood, the Animal slowly wrapped up his WWE run. He faced his wrestling mentor, Triple H, in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 35, which saw The Game come out on top.

This was his farewell to WWE, as he announced his retirement following the event in a post on social media.
