John Cena will be "returning the favor" at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C. Cena is set to retire from in-ring competition on that night, facing the winner of the Gunther vs. LA Knight match this Friday on WWE SmackDown.
Instead of having a tribute show for Cena, The GOAT wanted to give back to WWE just like what Kurt Angle did for him in his main roster debut in 2002. He will have his time at SNME, but he wants to be about the future of the company. The card is expected to feature top WWE stars going up against young talents who have potential.
In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Cena referred to his decision as "returning the favor" to the industry that gave him everything. Cena also called the top prospects "minor leaguers," who he expects to step up and "swing the bat" at SNME.
"I kind of want to return the favor, and you're going to see some, technically, minor leaguers step up to the plate and see if they can swing the bat. I think that's kind of cool like, on the way out, to give most of the programming to the future of the business," Cena said.

Logan Paul will try to convince John Cena to have one more match
While John Cena remains adamant that he'll be done with performing inside the ring after SNME, Logan Paul is going to try to convince him to change his mind. Paul told Fox News Digital that he wants another shot at Cena in a match.
"I'll see if I can try to convince him to come back for one more so I can beat him next time. But although he told me that he's not going to do that, he's not going to do that," Paul said.
Paul lost to Cena at Clash in Paris back in August in a highly acclaimed match. It further cemented "Maverick" as one of the future faces of WWE.
