The Last Time is Now Tournament featured two shocking returns, and Chelsea Green reacted to one of them in a recent interview.
On the November 14 edition of WWE SmackDown, LA Knight was set to face a mystery opponent in the first round of the Last Time is Now Tournament. After a lot of speculation, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder emerged as The Megastar's surprise opponent, returning to the Stamford-based promotion after five years.
Speaking in a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez on Unlikely, Green discussed her husband, Zack Ryder's return and revealed some interesting insights.
“We didn't know what was happening till the very last minute… it can be in talks for months, or it can be in talks for 24 hours. Either way, when they (WWE) call you, you pick up, and you get on a plane. And it's the same with Ethan Page coming to SmackDown, he found out the day of SmackDown. That was the same with Matt, although it was the day before… we figured it out last minute."

Green also revealed that Ryder had been in contact with WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, constantly over the past five years:
"However, he has been in contact with WWE constantly, the whole five years... He always makes sure that Triple H knows what he's doing or that he's available for the Rumble and things like that. It was the perfect storm of 'This made the most sense,' because he does have a personal friendship with John Cena, so why wouldn't he want to be John Cena's final opponent? So it worked perfectly between me pestering WWE, John Cena pestering WWE and Matt pestering WWE. They caved.”
Chelsea Green's first reaction to her husband's return to WWE
Although Ryder was unable to defeat LA Knight to advance to the quarter finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament, he enjoyed a very warm reception upon his return. After his match, Chelsea Green posted a picture on X/Twitter, with the following message:
"What a day to be Zack Ryders wife! 💜🧡💜🧡 @TheMattCardona #SmackDown."
Chelsea Green is currently the reigning Women's United States Champion on SmackDown, and also holds the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with Ethan Page.
