Major update on Penta amid WWE absence

Penta's WWE run came to a shocking halt when he landed a hurricanrana on the outside and injured himself. Recently, there has been a major update on his status following Survivor Series 2025.

Last month, Penta participated in 'The Last Time is Now' tournament and seemingly got himself injured in his match against MFT's Solo Sikoa. After the scary botch and reported shoulder injury, the masked star was absent from the weekly product.

Recently, the 40-year-old star was seen in a video on Instagram where he provided a major update on his injured shoulder. In Doctor Odiseo's Instagram post, it was revealed that Penta is on track and should be cleared to compete by Friday.

While the luchador was seen in the video and addressed the ongoing process, he still needs WWE and its medical team to clear him before stepping inside the squared circle. Regardless, it's a major update on his in-ring status, and it'll be interesting to see if he can compete with his brother, Rey Fenix, in AAA on the 20th.

Original plans for Penta on WWE RAW - Reports

Penta had a phenomenal rookie year in the Stamford-based promotion under Triple H's creative regime. While he's yet to win a championship in the company, the luchador has been heavily featured on WWE RAW and often emerged as a top contender in the mid-card division.

Last month, Penta was one of the names to have entered 'The Last Time is Now' tournament and defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor in the first round. However, a botched hurricanrana on the outside injured the 40-year-old WWE star's shoulder, and he lost the match to Solo Sikoa.

According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, the luchador was always planned to lose to The Street Champion. However, the two were originally supposed to have a lengthy match, and the bout was never intended to end abruptly with Sikoa as the winner.

Penta and Rey Fenix were announced to compete at an AAA event on December 20th. It'll be interesting to see if the RAW star can get cleared in time to reunite with his brother.
