LA Knight is officially in the semi-finals of the Last Time is Now tournament and is now one of four superstars who could potentially be John Cena's final opponent. Knight's second-last hurdle has been revealed. This week on SmackDown, the show opened with a backstage segment where Cathy Kelley informed Knight that he would be facing another mystery opponent, which frustrated him because it was the same situation as when Zack Ryder appeared. Either way, his opponent hadn't been decided yet. In a backstage segment where Nick Aldis was picking Sheamus' replacement at random, The Miz managed to trick him while he was distracted, as the ball was open. This allowed The A-Lister to replace the slip in the ball with his name, and in what seemed to be a "shocking" moment, The Miz was revealed as Sheamus' replacement against LA Knight.Despite the trickery, karma was something that The Miz couldn't catch up with. In the end, he lost to LA Knight in the quarterfinals and was eliminated from the tournament once again. After the opening match of SmackDown, where Jey Uso defeated Rusev, Knight will face Jey in the semi-finals of the tournament. On the other side of the bracket, Gunther will be facing Solo Sikoa on SmackDown next week. This means that Knight, Jey Uso, Gunther, or Solo Sikoa will be John Cena's last-ever opponent at Saturday Night's Main Event next month.Gunther will, of course, be the overwhelming favorite to win the entire tournament and go on to face John Cena. But it won't be without a fight. It will be interesting to see who WWE goes with this coming Monday on RAW. Expect an uproar if Jey Uso defeats Knight.Either way, The Megastar isn't going down without a fight.
