The Cenation Leader put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dominik Mysterio at WWE Survivor Series. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez interfered in the match, but they were eventually kicked out by the referee.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh also got involved, but Cena planted them with a double Attitude Adjustment in the middle of the ring. Balor took to social media today to share that Cena was much stronger than he thought.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that Cena should win his retirement match after dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Mysterio. He claimed that the 48-year-old should not lose his final two matches with the promotion.

"I think now, John has to beat Gunther. Because he should not go out losing two in a row. If he lost here, then he's really... I don't know what's gonna happen in that match, but to me, if John was gonna lose here, he should beat Gunther, if it is Gunther. They can always switch. I mean, they haven't shown much of an inclination to do that, but they always can."
