Former WWE Champion John Cena is currently in the final leg of his retirement tour with the promotion. The 48-year-old has had several memorable moments during his last run as a wrestler, but none would come close to the epic match that he had with AJ Styles at Crown Jewel 2025.

Fans were clamoring for John Cena to face AJ Styles one last time, and the match was made official via Twitter [X]. The two put on a memorable performance, in what many believe was the best match of their storied careers. John Cena Sr., the father of 26-time WWE Champion John Cena, likened the match to somewhat of a masterclass in professional wrestling.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, he said that up-and-coming wrestlers need to understand ring psychology the most. He added that it was an essential part of professional wrestling that young wrestlers can study from the match between John Cena and AJ Styles.

"The one thing that they learned, and the young people need to learn in this business, is ring psychology. They read their crowd, and they performed to what the crowd wanted. You notice they didn't stop. They listened. And when they did, they just went bang, bang, bang. They work so well together, so well together. And I think that's so important in this business," John Cena Sr. said.

John Cena hasn't yet made an appearance for WWE since his match at Crown Jewel. The Franchise Player announced the Last Time is Now tournament via a video package during last weekend's Saturday Night's Main Event. The tournament is set to feature stars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and possibly even TNA in a bid to determine Cena's final opponent in WWE.
