John Cena's father, John Cena Sr., has snubbed the idea of his son facing Gunther in his last-ever match. Gunther will face LA Knight in the final of The Last Time Is Now Tournament.
Cena will compete in his last-ever match on December 13th at Saturday Night's Main Event. His recent Survivor Series appearance marked his final Premium Live Event, where he lost the Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Mysterio.
Speaking on the All Axxess Podcast, Cena's father stated that he was against the idea of his son facing The Ring General. He believes that his son had already passed the torch to Cody Rhodes and gave the rub to Dominik Mysterio.
“If we have to use that as an analogy, then he’s already done that with Cody Rhodes. He beat him for the title. He gave the title back. They embraced, Cody was teary-eyed. The torch was passed. I think he’s given the rub along the way, especially with Dominik Mysterio. That was a tremendous deal." said Cena Sr. [H/T: Wrestling Observer]

John Cena has confirmed that he is "100% done"
John Cena has confirmed that he will be done with Professional Wrestling after his last match and doesn't intend to return for one more match.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 17-time WWE World Champion said the following:
"It has been a crazy year, where I announced this like 15 months in advance like, ‘I'm going to retire.’ This has really never been done in WWE history. WWE superstars don't necessarily retire. They always kind of hang on for one more match. I am absolutely 100% done. The 13th of December on Peacock is my last in-ring performance. I will never wrestle again,"
Cena confirmed his plans to retire from Professional Wrestling back in 2024. Throughout his final run, he has stepped into the ring with top names, including Randy Orton, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, and more.
He also won his 17th WWE World Championship at WrestleMania 41 by dethroning Cody Rhodes. The Last Real Champion also became a Grand Slam Champion by winning the Intercontinental Championship in November.
