John Cena will face Gunther in his retirement match in two days from now at Saturday Night's Main Event (SNME). The show will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The stakes would be high in this match, though. Gunther has earned this match by winning a tournament and beating three superstars back-to-back. Cena, on the other hand, would like to sign off with a high after his maiden win over the former World Heavyweight Champion.

However, according to Sam Roberts, an American wrestling personality and podcaster, John Cena would put over Gunther in this match, and in this process, his 20-year streak in WWE could finally see an end.

Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam said that Cena would agree to tap out to Gunther to put over the 38-year-old superstar.

John Cena's last match opening SNME - Check out Why!

"Yeah. I mean, Mr. Never Give Up. Never gives up. So that he would… the fact that he would tap out on his way out. I mean, if you’re going to go out on your back, that’s as going out on your back as I’ve ever seen anybody do. So, yeah. I mean, I would not be shocked at all. If they really want to do it, that’s how you really do it." (From 1:03:14)

Cena hasn't tapped out to any superstar in the last 20 years. The last time he tapped out was in 2004 to Kurt Angle's Angle Lock move. Since then, the Final Testament Player hasn't tapped out to any other superstar. In fact, in his entire WWE career since 2002, John Cena has tapped out to only three superstars: Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and the late wrestler Chris Benoit.

Gunther is known for his devastating Sleeper Lock, which knocks out the wrestler if he doesn't tap out. He used it against LA Knight, and The Megastar didn't tap out, but he passed out, and the referee called out the match and declared Gunther as the winner.

It is expected that The Ring General would use the same move on John Cena and make him tap out. We'll see whether The Champ gives up or not.

John Cena to work as an ambassador of WWE after retirement

John Cena is only retiring from in-ring competition, and not leaving WWE completely. The 17-time Champion has revealed that he has already signed his next contract with the Stamford-based promotion, and he will be working as an ambassador to WWE.

“I will be an ambassador to WWE. I’m already signed on for another five years. I was like, “Please, as long as you can do it. I would like to be in this family as an employee, as a contributing part for as long as I can," Cena said in an interview with Tom Rinaldi.

Several big names, including former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and US President Donald Trump, are rumored to be present at John Cena's last match. The 17-time WWE Champion's last match is expected to be a thrilling but emotional affair for the fans.
