WWE Superstar John Cena recently talked about making a major change during one of his feuds with Brock Lesnar. The Cenation Leader and The Beast Incarnate have a rich history in the Stamford-based promotion.

John Cena and Brock Lesnar have faced each other multiple times throughout their WWE careers. Back in 2003, Cena debuted his finisher, now known as The Attitude Adjustment. However, this move had a different name back then, as The Chain Gang Soldier chose to call his finisher the FU, poking fun at his rival, Lesnar, whose finishing move is known as the F5. Later, the 17-time World Champion had to change the name of his move due to WWE shifting to its PG Era.

During a recent chat with Bill Simmons of The Ringer, John Cena highlighted that he named his finishing move to mock Brock Lesnar during their feud, but he was not trying to make The Beast Incarnate look bad because the latter's next storyline was with The Undertaker.

"Brock Lesnar's move was the F5. I had a similar move where you pick a guy up. We both pick guys up, he is a little bit more strong, where he helicopters the guy. [My FU] came out of nowhere. So again, the match is not about me; I'm a middle man for Brock to go to The Undertaker, but the more you can make that middle match exciting, the cooler it is. It's a good one-off for the fans. So, I didn't try to make Brock look bad, but I was abrasive with my trash talk and was like, 'You have the F5, I have the FU.' And that's where the name of the move happened," he said.

Cena added that he was asked to change the name of his finisher. He then switched it to The Attitude Adjustment.

"So, I kept using it and then as we evolved into the PG [Era], I was told, 'Hey, we can't use that anymore.' And then switching it to The Attitude Adjustment has been incredible because, like, it's so weird that art imitates life. Like I'm always trying to change people's perspective. So literally, I'm trying or leaning into the fact that you can adjust your attitude no matter what at any moment," he added.

"It would also be great if it was in Boston, but none of that s**t is in our control," he said.

LA Knight and Gunther will battle it out in the finals of The Last Time Is Now Tournament on the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown. It will be interesting to see who will come out on top and get a chance to face John Cena in his final match.
