For over a decade, John Cena was the poster boy and the face of the company under Vince McMahon's regime. The Leader of The Cenation has done it all when it comes to marketing himself and the product outside the wrestling bubble, and he has attended shows and events in Hollywood as a WWE Superstar.

Today, he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and addressed a variety of topics, including his last match, retirement, and life following in-ring competition. After the show, he tweeted that his appearance on Kimmel's show was his last show as an in-ring performer and asked fans to tune in to Saturday Night's Main Event next weekend.

The Never Seen Seventeen will certainly make more appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, but not as a WWE Superstar.

John Cena Sr. isn't happy with WWE's pick

A few months ago, it was reported that the management decided to go with Gunther as John Cena's last-ever opponent in the Stamford-based promotion. The Ring General achieved a similar feat in July when he retired Goldberg from in-ring competition in Atlanta.

While fans and veterans aren't fans of the pick, John Cena's father also weighed in on the topic before Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington. Speaking on the All Axxess podcast, the veteran stated that the two-time World Heavyweight Champion doesn't need the rub from The Franchise Player.

Moreover, he added that it should be a passing-the-torch moment for the audience instead of putting an established name in his son's final match. It'll be interesting to see which star wins the tournament on Friday Night SmackDown and heads to Saturday Night's Main Event as John Cena's final opponent.
