WWE legend John Cena is one of the greatest names to step inside the squared circle. Almost everyone in the wrestling business has nothing but praise for The GOAT's work inside and outside the ring. However, his former rival, David Otunga, recently claimed that Cena was allegedly responsible for sending Husky Harris, aka the late great Bray Wyatt, back to developmental.

The former Wyatt Family leader wasn't always known by his in-ring moniker, Bray Wyatt, in the Stamford-based promotion. When he first debuted in the company, he was a part of The Nexus and was known as Husky Harris. The former WWE Champion feuded with John Cena in the early 2010s, but was then sent back to the company's then-developmental brand, FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling), where he adopted the Bray Wyatt character.

During a recent video uploaded on David Otunga's YouTube, the former WWE star revealed that during a tag team match, he was ringside to support The Nexus, while Husky Harris was in the ring with Cena. In this match, Harris allegedly poked the 17-time World Champion in the eye, which made the latter furious.

Otunga also claimed that The Chain Gang Soldier went off backstage and allegedly got the late great Bray Wyatt sent back to Florida Championship Wrestling.

"During this match, Husky Harris allegedly poked John Cena in the eye. Allegedly. Cena went crazy. Crazy in this match. We get to the back, Cena goes crazy. He goes off, says, 'We're not ready.' He got poked in the eye. Like it was bad… Eventually [Husky Harris] came in the back, and he was mad, and he was like, 'Man… I just found out. We're getting sent back to FCW,'" Otunga said.

David Otunga believes WWE legend John Cena feels he helped create the Bray Wyatt character

In the same video uploaded on his YouTube channel, David Otunga claimed that he believes John Cena feels that he helped create the Bray Wyatt character because if Husky Harris hadn't been sent back to developmental, he wouldn't have come up with the character.

"If I were to speculate, it kinda seems like just how Cena moves, is that in a way he feels like he helped create Bray Wyatt because had he not sent Husky Harris back, Windham wouldn’t have had to come up with the Bray Wyatt character," Otunga added.

John Cena paid a wholesome tribute to the late great Bray Wyatt during his clash with AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025. The GOAT only has one date left on his retirement tour as he will face Gunther in his final match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for Cena's last bout.
