During his feuds with Randy Orton and Edge, WWE brought up Cena's father and involved him in storylines. Orton punted his head in an episode of RAW, while Edge went into John's childhood home in Massachusetts and slapped his father into oblivion.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Cena opened up about having his own day in the state of Massachusetts on November 10. Jimmy Kimmel called Cena's father, John Cena Sr., which The GOAT immediately corrected.

"He's John Joseph, I'm John Felix Anthony. It's weird. He's not a senior, I'm not a junior," the WWE legend said.

As it turns out, John and his father only share the same first name and last name. They have different middle names, with John being John Felix Anthony Cena and his father is John Joseph Cena.

To be able to have "senior" or "junior" in their names, they needed to have the same full government names.

John Cena's father not happy with rumored choice for his final opponent

Speaking on the All Axxess podcast, John Cena's father shared his take on his son's final match at Saturday Night's Main Event. He's not a fan of Gunther being the final opponent, as well as the "tradition" that a retiring wrestler should "put over" or "pass the torch" on his way out.

"Well it certainly wouldn’t be Gunther, that’s for sure. I don’t think that that’s a wise move. I don’t think the fans would enjoy that move. Myself, personally, Gunther does not need the rub. By the way, I’m not a fan of on the way out you’ve got to push somebody over the top. You’re supposed to pass quote unquote the torch. I don’t know whether that’s written anywhere in professional wrestling," the elder Cena said. [H/T Fightful]

And if he had a choice for his son's final opponent, it would be Kurt Angle. He also wished that Angle's retirement match was against Cena and not Baron Corbin.
