Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is known for strong-arming several wrestlers who worked for him. Stars who had a good rapport with Mr. McMahon also had a good run in the Stamford-based promotion, while the opposite resulted in disasters. Despite this, WWE legend Mr. Kennedy recently revealed that he passed up a chance to form a good friendship with McMahon.

Speaking on the All Axxess Podcast, Ken Anderson said that he had a positive experience working with Vince McMahon. However, he was aware of the horror stories other wrestlers had with the former head honcho of WWE. Mr. Kennedy revealed that McMahon wanted him to hang out with him and learn more about the pro wrestling business, but he never took up the offer.

“All generally positive, like he never messes with me. I've seen him mess with people. I've heard stories of him messing with people that are like nightmare versions of stories. But I always had pretty positive interactions with him. In fact, at one point he was like, I want you to start hanging out with me. This was right when I got on board. I was like, I want you to learn the ins and outs of this business. I just never took him up on it. I don't know. Hindsight is what it is. I just didn't feel comfortable. I didn't want to be a kiss-a**. I felt like I didn't know any other way to go about doing that without feeling like a kiss-a**,” he said. [From 28:31 - 29:26]

Mr. Kennedy’s words suggest that he doesn’t have any regret over his choice. The WWE legend had a four-year run with the company from 2005 to 2009, during which he won the United States Championship once.

Another WWE legend opens up on turning down Vince McMahon

WWE legend Trish Stratus recently spoke to Pod Meets World, where she revealed that Vince McMahon wanted her to do a photoshoot for Playboy magazine. She noted that she had instantly turned McMahon down, stating that she wasn’t interested and it just wasn’t her.

She admitted that her gimmick on the Stamford-based promotion was highly s*xualized. However, it was the character Trish Stratus, not the person.

“No. Oh my gosh, it’s just not for me… Even though I’m known as a s*x symbol, I suppose, it is not me; it is my character. But yeah, no. It was not even an option. I was like, ‘Oh, that is just not me,’ she said.

The seven-time WWE Women’s Champion also revealed that the former head honcho of the company was very persistent with his demand. Moreover, Vince McMahon tried to convince Stratus for the job for several years, with the star turning him down every time.
