Multi-time WWE Champion Dave Batista is one of the most beloved Superstars to ever come out of the promotion. Through his incredible in-ring career, and what's become one of the greatest wrestling-turned-actor runs since Roddy Piper, it's not surprising that grown adults fall out near The Animal, even his fellow Hollywood stars.
Timothée Chalamet was the most recent guest on What Do You Wanna Talk About with Cody Rhodes, and got into his love of professional wrestling. Chalament worked with the 56-year-old star on the 2024 film, Dune: Part 2, and revealed to Rhodes that he gave the big guy a hilarious first impression.

"He couldn’t believe it. I knocked on his trailer door and I had ‘The Animal’ theme song playing. I hadn’t met him and I was [doing the machine gun taunt]. The look on his face was priceless. He had no clue. I love working with Dave. He’s a very serious guy. A very serious actor. The last time I saw Dave, I couldn’t locate my mom at the Oscars. I feel bad because I hope he doesn’t think I was Hollywooding him because he was saying hi, and I literally couldn’t locate where my mother was. I love Dave. Batista and Rey Mysterio, that was the WWE I grew up on. Dave has one of the best entrances of all time." -Timothée Chalamet on What Do You Wanna Talk About (H/T Fightful)
Batista was one of the most important names in the Ruthless Aggression and PG Eras, but you wouldn't know that talking to him.
Dave Batista doesn't believe he deserves a WWE Hall of Fame induction
Dave Batista's final run with WWE ended in 2019. The Animal took on Triple H at WrestleMania 35, which would be his official pro wrestling retirement match. It was announced later that year that Big Dave would be part of the Hall of Fame 2020 class. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the event, and Batista has yet to be inducted, reportedly due to scheduling issues.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet last year, the legendary star actually claimed he wasn't sure whether his WWE career was Hall of Fame-worthy.
"My run from 2005-2010. I'm proud of it. I can say I'm proud of it. You know, I've had the conversation with Hunter about, you know, going into the Hall of Fame. And there was always a part of me that makes me feel like my career is not worthy of going into the Hall of Fame."
Much like any fans who have heard that, Van Vliet was stunned to hear Batista's doubts. The WWE Champion-turned-beloved Hollywood star did say that Triple H boosted him, claiming that, even if that were true, his work outside the company has solidified him as a Hall of Famer. Fans, celebs, and even wrestlers love The Animal, and would love to see him finally inducted sometime soon.
