WWE Superstars have often returned to wrestling or stepped out of retirement following their stint with the Stamford-based promotion. Recently, the former World Heavyweight Champion, The Great Khali, is set to return to in-ring action after nearly eight years.

In April 2018, The Great Khali competed in a gimmick match at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble and lost to Braun Strowman. After the event, he was eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame and has made on-screen appearances for the company.

However, he shifted his focus from in-ring competition as he started his own restaurant and trained the next generation of stars at his wrestling school. Today, CWE, The Great Khali's promotion and wrestling school, revealed that the former World Heavyweight Champion is set to return to in-ring action.

Will The Great Khali return to WWE for a final run?

The Great Khali was once a monstrous force in the Stamford-based promotion and conquered the likes of The Undertaker, Kane, and Big Show in his initial run. Later, he became the first Indian-born star to capture the World Heavyweight Championship and had a few matches with Batista before losing the title.

After working with the Stamford-based promotion for a little over a decade, the veteran decided to shift his focus to different avenues. However, he always had a good relationship with the company. In 2021, he became a Hall of Famer, but never got to have a final match or a run in the promotion as a performer.

Earlier this year, The Great Khali revealed that he would be interested in appearing in WWE, but he cannot return to the promotion on a full-time basis due to his other commitments. Moreover, he's open to making one-off appearances as a participant in the Royal Rumble match.
