A former WWE star has confirmed his return to the ring. The star was released in September this year, and it was reported that the non-compete clause will prevent him from wrestling in any other promotion for a while.
The name in question is none other than Andrade. After returning to WWE in 2024, he was released by the promotion a few months back. He then showed up in AEW; however, it emerged that he was bound by a no-compete clause and would be unable to wrestle for the next 12 months.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda's Riju Dasgupta, Andrade has confirmed that he will be making his return to the ring this Saturday, despite the clause. He mentioned that he will compete in a WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship match in Puerto Rico after an agreement between his lawyers and WWE.
“Yeah, I’m so happy to be in Puerto Rico. I want to say thank you to my lawyer. My lawyer now has a letter from WWE, because we had a few problems because of the non-compete for 12 months. So today, my lawyer told me, ‘Andrade, I have a letter, signed, that you can participate tonight, in Puerto Rico in the company WWC.’ So now the letter says I can come back to the ring tonight, on this last show – last show of the year. I have the opportunity for the title, so I am so happy. After all these problems, I don’t know what to say. I want to be ready for tonight," he said.

Andrade said it was difficult not to wrestle regularly after WWE exit
During the exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Andrade was asked whether it annoyed him that he was not able to wrestle regularly.
The former U.S. champion said it was "difficult" but was happy to get back to the ring. He mentioned that he has been at home for a few months and wants to show people what he can do in the ring.
He then shed light on Puerto Rico's wrestling history, saying that great names such as Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Kane, and many others have also competed in the country over the years.
