A former WWE star has admitted that she didn't know how to wrestle. Over the years, many stars from different walks of life have tried their luck in WWE to varying success.
Back in 2013, WWE signed Eva Marie to a developmental contract after a four-week tryout. She initially joined the promotion's reality show Total Divas. She was quickly promoted to the main roster with minimal experience.
While she had some charisma, her in-ring skills were fairly limited. During an appearance on Unwrapped, Eva Marie talked about her WWE stint with Daria Berenato, fka Sonya Deville, and Toni Berenato. Deville brought up Eva getting booed heavily during her matches, as she admitted that she didn't know how to wrestle.
"Oh, it was wild. It bothers me, like, what's crazy about that because I didn't know how to wrestle. Like what's crazy is like I truly didn't know how to. So like having the opportunity to be on such a grand stage knowing like the efforts of everybody else having to put in the time and work to get there, and I didn't know how to (wrestle), ate me alive," Eva admitted.

She said she understood the criticism, and she would have had the same reaction if any newbie walked in.
"I would feel some type of way too if a brand new girl walked into the locker room and I'm like, 'Where did this chick come from? She hasn't done a thing. She doesn't even know how to take a back bump,'" she added.

After a main roster run, she went to NXT but struggled to win over the fans. A return to the main roster followed, but it proved to be fruitless as she parted ways with the promotion in 2017.
Eva Marie returned to WWE in 2020
In 2020, it was reported that she signed a new contract with WWE. She then made her on-screen return in June 2021 and was paired with Piper Niven.
The duo competed as a tag team before Eva started a feud with Alexa Bliss. She took on Little Miss Bliss at SummerSlam but ended up losing.
Eventually, Niven also turned on her and beat her in a singles match on RAW. She was then written off TV after an injury angle and subsequently released by the promotion in November that year.
