Former WWE champion seemingly confirms the end of beloved character

WWE often repackages talent to ensure that none of its characters ever gets stale. Sometimes changes of hair or look can be enough to push a star forward, but it seems that Tyler Bate has found new fame under a mask.

Bate has found success in recent months as part of Los Americanos alongside El Grande Americano, and it appears that he could have signalled that he won't be returning to his former character anytime soon.

Bate recently took to Instagram to share that he had listed all of his old boots and gear for sale, which includes the gear he wore whilst working with Pete Dunne in New Catch Republic.

This could mean that Bate has found a new sense of freedom in his new role and will not be returning to his former character.

Bate was the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion at just 19 and has climbed through the ranks in the company over the past few years, having a five-star match against Pete Dunne enroute.

Interestingly, he recently stated on Instagram a few weeks ago that he was semi-retired, which led to a number of questions.

Bate and Dunne are still working together, but wrestling fans are not supposed to know that they are the ones portraying Bravo and Rayo. This could be why Bate is updating on social media to act as though he hasn't been on TV for several months.

That being said, El Grande Americano has become one of the most popular names in the company, and his team has been able to work across in AAA at the same time as WWE, which has then exposed him to a much bigger audience.
