Apart from his in-ring legacy in WWE, John Cena is known for his humble and warm personality. He has been known to be respectful of his colleagues and even paid tribute to many of his former rivals during his retirement run.

However, backstage things might be different, at least according to former WWE Tag Team Champion David Otunga. He teamed up with John Cena to win the Tag Team Championship as part of Nexus.

During an appearance on the All Axxess Podcast, host Joseph Bruen told Otunga how he remembers seeing Cena at an independent show. He recalled how the young star was helpful and humble. When asked whether Otunga had the same experience, the former WWE star had a different answer.

Is Triple H mad at John Cena? Check in details!

"You want the real answer? No. I mean, come on. He’s John Cena. I’m gonna be honest with you. Yes, he is that, but I mean, like, he’s not gonna be that way with me, with the boys in the locker room. With general people, oh yeah, of course, he’s humble. But, you know, he’s got a different swagger to him being John Cena, 16-time [sic] World Champion. That he’s earned," he said.

Otunga said that the Never Seen 17 earned the right to be that way and didn't need to be humble backstage.

"Don’t take this out of context. He earned the right not to have to be humble around us in the locker room. But in general, yeah, of course, he’s still a nice, humble guy. But he would never be that way to us in the locker room," he said.

John Cena to defend his Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series

John Cena kicked off things this week on RAW and was soon interrupted by Dominik Mysterio.

"Dirty" Dom was not happy about losing his title and demanded a rematch. While Cena was glad to oblige and fight him at Madison Square Garden, the AAA Mega Champion wanted things his way.

Thus, Dominik asked for a title match at Survivor Series in San Diego, his hometown. The match was then made official for the premium live event.
