John Cena is perhaps the most popular professional wrestler on the WWE roster, and he is all set to retire from in-ring action this weekend. However, a former World Heavyweight Champion claimed that he hasn't tuned in for The Cenation Leader's farewell tour at all.

The name in question is Bryan Danielson (fka Daniel Bryan in WWE). Speaking in a recent interview with Justin Barrasso, the 44-year-old claimed that he was entering an experimental phase in his life where he was experiencing less media input, including watching less wrestling.

Bryan stated that he did not see any of the work John Cena put in during his farewell tour. The veteran added that although he was not watching, he hoped everything would all go well for the Never Seen 17, as he deserved it.

"So I haven't seen any of John Cena's final run. I'm not watching, but I hope it goes really well for John. That guy deserves the last year of his career to be awesome," Danielson said.

Later during the interview, Danielson revealed that he watched AEW shows and read books as his media and entertainment intake.

"Yes, I do allow some media and entertainment. That's the AEW shows I watch and the books I read. That’s pretty much it," Danielson added. [H/T: 411Mania]

Daniel Bryan left WWE in May 2021 before joining AEW later the same year. Although he announced his retirement from full-time in-ring competition in 2024, citing health concerns, the veteran is still working with the wrestling promotion behind the scenes and making sporadic appearances.

Speaking in an interview with The Ringer’s Bill Simmons, The Cenation Leader pointed out that he understood several people not believing that he would stay retired. However, the veteran reiterated that he was never coming back for a match after the upcoming show.

"You don't have to believe anything you don't want to. What I've been able to do over 23 years is turn a lot of non-believers around, and that is by my actions. I don't expect anyone to believe that, like, 'Hey, I'm retiring.' Oh, no. The precedent hasn't been said. The precedent for wrestling retirement is like a wrestling wedding; like something's going to go wrong in the wedding. No one ever retires. I understand the skepticism, and you'll know I'm serious when I never come back," Cena said.

It will be interesting to see how John Cena fares in his last WWE match.
