The former United States Champion stated that he wanted to dedicate the year to completely rid himself of the Baron Corbin identity. The 41-year-old said he won't go to AEW right after WWE because he doesn’t want the tag of another guy from the promotion who arrived because of his release. Moreover, he said that Baron Corbin is now dead and that he would be going with a new moniker and gimmick to build himself up again.“I wouldn't want to be just another WWE guy that came there because they left WWE. I would rather go and do like New Japan for a year. Who knows, maybe that's where I just love it, and I stay there for the rest of my wrestling career. So if I ever did go that route, I would want to kind of clear that ‘oh, he's just a WWE guy coming over.’ Baron Corbin is dead as far as we know, like we're dropping a new name, new moniker, new character,” he said. Tom Pestock currently wrestles under the ring name Bishop Dyer and is one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions with Donovan Dijak. He won the vacant RXV National Championship at RXV Invasion Santiago by defeating Montoya on November 30, 2025. However, he lost the title the same day to Nocturno.
